Our nation’s opioid epidemic is far reaching, and continues to infiltrate our communities, workplaces, and lives. In 2018, a poll of Massachusetts residents revealed an overwhelming belief that the opioid epidemic—and our response to it–is the single most important issue facing the Commonwealth. Further supporting these concerns, is the fact that 3 in 10 of these respondents were connected to someone who had died from an overdose.*
Recovery is a team effort, and no one should feel isolated, or that they have to go through it alone. We are here to help, and have teamed up with federal and state governments, as well as local health care providers, employers, and communities to bring this crisis to an end for everyone.
We’re proud to lead the effort to find a solution in Massachusetts by achieving more than a 40% reduction of filled opioid prescriptions between 2013 and 2017, and by continuing to dispel the stigma surrounding addiction and opioid misuse. We’re committed to working with our members and community partners to help bring this epidemic to an end.
